Susie was born in Muskegon, and it’s still her home to this day. She is a pet mom to two Miniature Aussies (Layla & Luna), a rescue (her sweet Maggie), and she didn’t stop there! She also has two Maine Coon cats (Rusty & Tazy), and four rescues (Vanna, Ollie, RC, and Baby). 

Susie has been married to her best friend, John Hughes, for forty seven years. She has worked in the family business, Hughes Builders Inc, for several years. She is the past Muskegon County Commissioner, Chair of the County Board, and Past Chairmen of Safari Club International (Michigan Chapter).

Susie is looking forward to becoming more involved with Pound Buddies.
