Foster Buddy Application

IN CONSIDERATION OF YOUR TIME

It is Pound Buddies’ general policy that we do not foster to homes with unaltered pets or pets not current on vet services; however, we will review foster applications on a case‐by‐case basis.

A REWARDING RELATIONSHIP, A SERIOUS RESPONSIBILITY

Fostering a dog is a serious responsibility that offers much love and many lasting rewards. You are not only fostering a pet, you are adding a new member to your household. Pound Buddies Animal Shelter and Adoption Center strives to ensure that each person who fosters a pet is aware of, and willing to , accept that responsibility. The questions on this form are designed to help our staff make sure there is a good match between each foster dog and its new foster family.

I certify that I have read the foster questions carefully and that the information in this Foster Application has been answered truthfully.

I give Pound Buddies Animal Shelter and Adoption Center permission to fully investigate the information provided, as well as contact veterinarians and related officials.

Acknowledgement of Foster Responsibilities:

I agree to attend at least TWO Adopt-a-Dog (AAD) events / month OR I will make arrangements for an available Pound Buddies Volunteer to represent me and my Foster at these events. (Based on the personality and needs of the dog and discussion with the Foster Coordinator, this requirement may be waived in lieu of other methods of presenting the dog to potential adopters).
I agree to take advantage of provided training sessions for my Foster when they are offered.
I agree to keep my Foster current on all vet services, testing and prevention and to accurately and immediately document all procedures on the dog's Medical Record Sheet as a critical part of the pending Adoption paperwork.
I understand that Pound Buddies Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will evaluate my foster for adoptability after six months in my care, and if the animal has not been exposed to potential adopters via methods discussed with the Foster Coordinator, my dog may be made available to another foster for adoption or may be returned to the Shelter to re-enter the adoption process.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

After submitting your application, please call your Veterinarian by the next business day authorizing his/her office to speak with a Pound Buddies’ representative regarding your vet history. Also reach out to your references to let them know they may be receiving a call from us. Thank you!
